Sant’Agnello (NA) · Campania Historic residence
The original historic home of the writer Marion Crawford, perched above the sea with views of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. Open all year round, it has a large, elegant, bright meeting room with panoramic views and other rooms of various sizes, ideal for small meetings.

Large and spacious, in an elegant period setting, on 3 floors with a lift. Half of the rooms have a sea view.

In the 1,500 m² park, separate from the main building: simple style and a small outdoor table to enjoy the scents of the Mediterranean scrub.
When the American writer Francis Marion Crawford bought the villa in 1885, it was a simple farmhouse surrounded by a large garden: here he wrote many of the works that made him famous around the world. Over time the building was altered until it resembled an old medieval castle, and the interior was decorated with wooden panels carved by the Sorrento craftsman Giovanni Massa.
When the writer died in 1909, the villa passed to his daughter Eleonora and, in 1954, it was donated to the Institute of Mary Help of Christians, which still welcomes the many young people who gather here for a few hours of recreation and prayer.
The distinctive buttresses were built to prevent landslides along the coast and to make the villa visible from the sea. On the stones of the ramparts Crawford had the words “In tempestate securitas” carved: a safe place in the storm.
