For a parish group, a school class or an association visiting Naples, Casa FMA is a simple, central base. The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians welcome guests at the seat of the Southern Province, a complex with a cloister and a garden, a short walk from the churches and monuments of the centre.
Who it is for
The house suits small groups who want to explore the city on foot: pilgrimages to the churches of the historic centre, school trips, catechism or oratory groups, friends who share a journey together. With 12 rooms, singles and doubles, it is designed for close-knit groups rather than large parties.
What it offers
- Single and double rooms with a double bed or two single beds.
- Air conditioning, heating, lift and Wi-Fi.
- A fridge available to guests.
- The cloister and the inner courtyard, a corner of silence in the middle of the city.
Rates start from €60 a night. In Naples there is also a tourist tax of €2 per person per night.
How to organise the trip
- Get around on foot. The historic centre is best discovered on foot: staying here spares you coaches and parking, the biggest headache for groups in the city.
- A theme for each day. The churches of the centre, underground Naples, the seafront: divide the programme by area, so that journeys stay short.
- Book visits in good time. Many sites in the centre, such as the underground tours and the busiest museums, require groups to book.
- Include the tourist tax in your budget. For a group of ten people staying three nights, it comes to an extra €60.
The mission of the house
At the heart of the mission of the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco is the education of young people, especially the poorest. Staying here means spending a few days in a house that lives by this spirit, the spirit of Don Bosco’s motto: “Good Christians and honest citizens”.
