Since 1943 Villa Tabor has welcomed groups on the Asiago Plateau: formation weekends, weeks of spirituality, spiritual exercises, days of prayer and retreats. Surrounded by beech and fir trees, in Cesuna di Roana, it is the right place for a group that wants to combine formation, nature and a simple life.
Who it is for
After its renovation in 1999 the house became a point of reference on the Plateau for youth formation. It welcomes formal and informal groups with their own educational, formative, spiritual and cultural programmes, as well as priests and religious sisters. Since 2017 it has also opened its doors to families, with relaxing weekends and time spent together.
What it offers
- 15 rooms, with lift, heating and Wi-Fi.
- The votive chapel, for the group’s prayer.
- Free parking, convenient for anyone coming up by car or coach.
- The community of sisters, with whom you can share some moments of prayer and service.
Ideas for the programme
Nature
Woodland paths, mountain-bike routes and trekking trails start right around the house. In winter the Plateau offers skiing and skating: a winter camp here has a different feel.
The memory of the Great War
The woods of Cesuna were the scene of major events of the First World War. Trenches, gun positions and the great Ossuary are a powerful stop for a group of young people: an opportunity to talk about peace, history and choices.
The flavours of the Plateau
Mountain dairies and small producers turn a walk into a discovery of local food. A visit to a mountain dairy is a lovely moment to share together.
How to organise the camp
- Combine activities and silence. Formation in the morning, the woods in the afternoon, the chapel in the evening: the rhythm of the mountains helps the group.
- Bring the right kit. Walking boots and warm clothes, even in summer: at altitude the evenings are cool.
- Agree things with the community. Ask which moments of prayer and service the group can share with the sisters.
